About the Role

The Huntsville Learning Center is a Christ-centered organization partnering with schools, families, and our community to help students with limited opportunities become spiritually aware, lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and high school graduates through programs focusing on Biblical knowledge, mentorship, and academic support. 


Overview:

The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in promoting Huntsville Learning Center’s mission and presence through consistent, engaging, and mission-aligned communications across digital and print platforms. This role supports the Development Director by managing organizational messaging, storytelling, branding, and digital engagement. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, self-motivated, and deeply aligned with HLC’s mission.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or media production.

  • Strong skills in organization, communication, time management, and multitasking.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Competency in social media tools, basic design software (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar), and website content management.

  • Ability to capture and edit photographs and video content for digital and print materials.

  • Comfortable working in a self-managed, remote setup (reliable internet, computer, and phone required).

  • Alignment with the mission and values of Huntsville Learning Center.

  • Experience in a ministry and/or non-profit environment is strongly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow HLC’s social media platforms, including creating and scheduling posts that reflect the organization's mission and voice.

  • Design engaging digital and print materials that adhere to HLC’s branding guidelines.

  • Update and maintain the HLC website with current program information, upcoming events, opportunities, photos, videos, and stories of impact.

  • Draft and distribute a monthly digital newsletter featuring stories, highlights, mission wins, and community engagement.

  • Attend select events to capture photos and videos for communication purposes.

  • Collaborate weekly with the Development Director to ensure that communication strategies align with HLC priorities and seasonal goals.
